An interesting finding should become easier to understand without becoming a larger claim.
Start with the evidence.
We prioritize research papers, scientific societies, research institutions and government science references. A research institution’s report is identified as such. Reviews and foundational references are distinguished from new experimental papers in the source list.
Explain the mechanism and its limits.
We identify what was measured, predicted or demonstrated, then discuss how it connects with a wider problem. Laboratory performance does not automatically establish commercial feasibility or clinical benefit. Imagined examples are identified in the text. Real microscopy and device photographs carry author and license credits. Generated laboratory illustrations are labelled and are never presented as experimental evidence. See our image provenance library.
Make dates useful.
Research articles lead with the verified publication or announcement date of the underlying source. Evergreen explainers are identified as background guides rather than assigned artificial publication histories. The references record when sources were reviewed; that review date is separate from the research date. The site’s launch and revision metadata remain accurate. An older result can be important background without being represented as breaking news.
Keep the references consistent.
Numbered in-text citations point to the source list below each article. External references use the same format throughout. This edition does not contain paid placements, fabricated interviews, personal testimonials or invented scientific credentials.
Separate history from current information.
Restored conference pages are historical summaries with links to the society archive. They do not reopen 2010 registration, award entries or exhibitor agreements. Their old addresses remain usable so that a historic citation still has a meaningful destination.
AI assistance.
Some content is assisted by AI during preparation, including drafting, editing and illustration. Research sources and image provenance are provided for readers to inspect.
Corrections and maintenance.
This first edition was reviewed on 30 October 2026. A future revision should update the relevant source, copy and review date together. Sources are linked for inspection, and unresolved engineering or biological questions are stated in the article rather than hidden behind a generic conclusion.
